This report explores the key features of guardianship systems put in place to cater for the needs of all children in need of protection, including child victims and those at risk of becoming victims of trafficking in human beings or of other forms of exploitation. The research covers four specific areas, namely the type of guardianship systems in place, the profile of appointed guardians, the appointment procedures, and the tasks of the guardians.

Metaction

Metaction (Metadrasi) er en ideell organisasjon som sikter på å forbedre forholdene til flykninger i Hellas. Blandt flere prosjekt ønsker de og opprette en vergeordning for midreårige asylsøkere og de ser blant annet til Norge for inspirasjon. Representanter fra vergeforeningen har vært i Hellas to ganger  for å lære om situasjonen der og om prosjektene til Metaction. I oktober var representanter fra Metaction i Norge for å lære om den norske vergeordningen. Det er et spennende og nødvendig prosjekt, men i et utfordrende politisk klima.

Under følger en kortfilm produsert i sammenheng med EEA Grants Greek NGO Programmet » We are all Citizens», som har som mål å videre promotere EEA Grants bidrag til livene til de som direkte drar nytte av Grants in Greece.

Gjennom prosjektet «Guardianship Network of Unaccompanied Minors» som er et prosjekt i regi av METAdrasi i samarbeid med Vergeforeningen – Følgesvennen, søker filmen å sette søkelys på det akutte behovet for å beskytte de mindreårige som drar til Europa alene i håp om et bedre liv.
